Welcome to Simply a MomMy objective in creating Simply a Mom, is to try and teach my children compassion, humility, grace and charity. My goal in partnering with my children to serve those who do not have what we have, is to foster an understanding that so many families that do not have the basic necessities of life, let alone toys (something most children can relate to!) Each of the shelters featured on our website houses real families that have faces, each with their own stories, and children. What is a little scary is that any of their situations could befall any of us at any time.
Since it is quite time consuming to go to the shelters, get their list of needs, come back home, organize the items for each shelter and then go and deliver them to each shelter, Simply a Mom is a volunteer organization, which will do all the organizational and delivery “footwork”. With Simply a Mom, there will be no need to leave your home. We will do all the running around for you. We will have all the shelters’ updated needs on this web-site with some special family stories. All you have to do is, when the seasons change, (Spring and Fall), go through your family’s closets, toy boxes, and cupboards to see if you have anything to give. Place your items on your front stoop and we will pick up and deliver your items to the shelter of your choice. Simply a Mom will provide Charitable Contribution Tax Credit from the shelters for each of your donations. If there is a season that you don’t have anything to give, there are always opportunities for you and your children to volunteer with us. What a way to teach our children the grace of giving…get them involved! You have gone this far because you want to help. Take the next step and select the How to Help link on the navigator. Follow the easy steps for Simplyamom.org to help you help our neighbors in need. Thank you for your interest and time… Simply a Mom, Heather Stout, the Stout family and friends
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me … ‘ I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’” - Matthew 25: 35-36, 40
