Simply a Mom has chosen to aid and donate items to local homeless / crisis shelters. We feel it is important to aid, love and provide for all of our neighbors and their children who have fallen on hard times. Their children are innocent victims of the unfortunate situations their families are in. We want to donate needed items that may aid in raising them out of their desperate situation. We just wanted to help them, as we would hope and pray, our neighbors would help us. Poverty and Homeless What is shocking is that 3 out 4 poor children live In a working family. Someone works either full or part-time for at least part of the year. Families with children account for 40% of the homeless population. On average poor families have only 2 children. Homeless children defy any stereo types: 4.2 million are Caucasian children, 3.5 million are African American children and 3.6 are Hispanic children.
